Worldwide go-lives for Navis
Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) in South Africa has implemented the Navis SPARCS N4 terminal operating system (TOS) at its seventh terminal.
The first to manage multiple sites from one location in 2009, TPT now manages all of its marine terminals from a central location.
Navis has also three other recent or planned SPARCS N4 go-lives. These are Borusan Port in Turkey, Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi and the Port of Gdansk in Poland. This last implementation is partly to manage a forecasted boost in volumes, as Gdansk moved more than 450,000 teu in 2010, and expects to increase this to 1.4 million teu by 2015. It also has room for phased capacity rise of up to four million teu.
The new operating system will allow DCT Gdansk to evolve its business environment and requirements evolve.
