Italy tots up major port investment

The Italian government has confirmed that it has allocated more than €130m ($180m) for development of national ports.

In addition to the €50m in co-financing granted to Genova Port Authority to undertake reclamation work at Sestri, €69m has been allocated to Savona to build a terminal for Maersk at Vado Ligure, while the remaining €12m is intended for the ports of Cagliari, Gioia Tauro and Taranto.
