Ports prepare for arrival of LNG-fuelled ships
In preparation for the imminent arrival of LNG-fuelled ships, a working group has been set up within the World Ports Climate Initiative to consider the standardisation of the safety aspects of LNG bunkering operations at worldwide ports.
Classification society Det Norske Veritas estimates that 19%-45% of ships will be powered by LNG by 2030.
Antwerp Port Authority has taken the lead in the WPCI project.
