New legislation threatens Italian port autonomy
New legislation in Italy, it is claimed, threatens to cannibalise the financial autonomy of ports.
Article 46 of the Development Decree, which is designed to facilitate communication between ports and off port zones, obviates the need for compulsory customs clearance at the port of landing.
This, it is claimed, could undermine port finances.
