Rotterdam eyes Brazilian bid

A Dutch group headed by Rotterdam port authority has put forward a $2.37bn proposal to build a new multipurpose port in the Brazilian south-eastern state of Espírito Santo.

The so-called Porto Central will be built in the town of Presidente Kennedy, which is 160 km south of state capitol Vitória.

According to Antaq, the port operator would be TPK Logística. The port will handle liquid bulk, dry bulk, agribulk and general cargo, as well as providing supplies for the offshore oil and gas industry.
