Port navigation system

The DockingAssist system is a high-speed port navigation system developed to improve port area safety and increase overall throughput in port traffic.

The system uses a WiMAX- based network solution designed by VTT and provides pilots with real-time information from a number of harbour services to monitor the movements of port traffic.

A prototype was successfully tested this autumn at the Port of Cork in Ireland and helped to reduce overall port efficiency and reduce fuel consumption.

Latest forklifts

Hyster has launched its latest generation of low emission 8 to 16 tonne capacity lift trucks designed to be customised with a variety of attachments to suit specific applications.

The Hyster H8-16XM-6 range can achieve average lift speeds of between 0.28 and 0.51m/s and allows for the possibility to control up to four auxiliary controls on an attachment.

Its main benefit is that it delivers relentless power during intense duty cycles in extreme operating conditions including exposed quaysides.

Terminal tractors
