Konecranes closes the gap
Konecranes is “closing the gap” with its competitors following the acquisition of the container handling lift truck business of Linde Material handling, owned by KION group.
The acquisition comprises the Linde brand’s container handling business, reach stackers and container handlers for empty as well as laden containers, including spare parts and after sales services.
Lars Fredin, vice president and head, BU lift trucks, Konecranes, said: “We are pleased to see that the investment meets our own, but also the market’s expectations. We can already see synergies and an increase of spare parts sales.”
“Our ambition is to be one of top two in container handling business on the global market. By merging Linde’s range of container handling business into Konecranes’ existing range, we are closing the gap to our competitors,” he added.
Konecranes says with this acquisition, it has access to a world wide dealership network alongside modern production facilities in Sweden and China.
At the start of 2014, the company will implement all organisational changes, train dealers and be up to speed with manufacturing and spare parts deliveries.
