Greek port operations

The Greeks rejection of the latest rescue package from creditors throws the future of the countrys euro zone membership into further doubt and probably makes the relationship with its lenders a little more difficult.

But according to Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS), so far port operations seem to be largely unaffected.

The only thing that may be causing some troubles at the moment is that with Greek banks currently closed, Cash to Master withdrawals may well be affected and probably won’t take place in any Greek port until at least 7 July.

Despite this, ISS said that operations are continuing as normal in Greece despite the Greek monetary crisis and ISS Piraeus personnel are keeping suppliers and principals informed at the port.

It added that the current capital controls do not represent a risk to any port operation for ships or their passengers calling under ISS agency oversight in Greece at this time.
