CES launches modular reach stacker

CES Italy has presented its VRS Reach Stacker with variable wheelbase which has the ability to transform depending on load requirements.

The recently launched new modular variable reachstacker has up to 60 different configurations and an extendable wheelbase of 6.5m to 8.5m, with a total of 12 modules available for each wheelbase.

Its modular design uses quick release components that clip on and off, which reduces downtimes and increased flexibility. This means it is possible to exchange the engine unit in 30 minutes or to change the configuration of the machine after delivery.

The power train consists of a side-mounted diesel engine in connection with a mechanical transmission and a user-friendly software, this leads to lower noise levels and fuel consumption.

The company claims that it can use much smaller diesel motors instead of engines most typically used in laden container handling reachstackers.

First units of the VRS Reach Stacker will be ready in October and will then be delivered to France.
