China eyes Slovenian port potential

Media reports say that China is interested in getting involved with the Port of Koper renovation project in Slovenia.

Xinhua said that Premier Li Keqiang expressed his interest in the project during a recent meeting with Slovenian Prime Minister Miro Cerar in Suzhou, east China.

It’s no secret that China has proposed an initiative to promote cooperation between ports in the Baltic, Adriatic and Black Seas.

Now Li has apparently called on both countries to promote trade zones, logistics and transportation infrastructure.

Prime Minister Cerar is currently in China for the fourth summit of China and Central and Eastern European countries which is an annual event established back in 2012.

He is said to have expressed willingness to promote tourism with China, particularly as the country will host the 2022 Winter Olympics.
