TPS receive new order for RTG cranes

The cranes will join more than 20 Terex RTG cranes already in operation in Egypt, they will operate at the Alexandria Container Terminal and the El-Dekheila Container Terminal at the main port of Alexandria.

“More than 60% of Egypt’s foreign trade is handled through the Port of Alexandria. It is therefore crucial for our country’s economy that the fleet is based on the most reliable technology,” said Ashraf Salman, minister of investment of Egypt.

All six RTG cranes will be manufactured at the TPS facility in Haimen China. Each will be equipped with eight wheels to provide a maximum lifting capacity of 40t under spreader.

The three cranes, with a span of 22.5m, for the Alexandria Container Terminal will cover six container rows and a lane for terminal trucks.

While El-Dekheila Container Terminal will receive one machine with the same span and two cranes with 26.5 m span that cover seven container rows and a truck lane.

Admiral Alaa Eldin Ma’moun Nada, chairman and CEO of ACCHCO, added: “Terex RTGs have the reputation of being highly productive and offering competitive total cost of ownership.”

“This is why we have now opted for this technology. With the six cranes we will significantly enhance the efficiency of our operations,” he concluded.
