Cargotec’s Kalmar wins record contract

The project will involve increasing the safe working load of the seven STS cranes, originally supplied by IMPSA, from 50 to 61 tonnes, modernising the cranes’ control and electrical systems, and introducing a wide range of other safety and capability enhancements.

The project will be based in the Crane Upgrade Competence Centre at Port Klang, which conducts crane upgrade projects throughout Asia Pacific for Kalmar’s customers. Site work is scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2016.

In a second project, booked in Cargotec’s 2016 first quarter order intake, Kalmar will deliver nine diesel-electric straddle carriers to independent European container terminal operator EUROGATE for use in its Hamburg Container Terminal during the fourth quarter of 2016.
