Liebherr launches smartApp

Liebherr is extending its product range of IT tools and services with the launch of the LiDAT smartApp, a telematic system that promises to optimise the cargo handling performance of cranes and related processes by utilising big data analytics.

New LiDAT smartApp will use big data to optimise cargo handling.

LiDAT smartApp will combine crane technology and data transfer logic. First, an online work cycle detection on the crane will record specific values during crane operation. Next, process data is transmitted in real time to the LiDAT service centre, where analysis will take place. The results of the analysis are then fed back to the crane/driver via LiDAT and shown on the operator’s display.

Features include status reports and fleet management, detailed view and comparison, system integration, and training and simulation.

“Big data used to be a technical problem. Now, it’s a business opportunity. LiDAT smartApp gets all relevant people throughout your port or terminal connected directly to the relevant data,” the company said. “This leads to immediate decisions and gives customers the ability to get added value out of their data.”
