Mclean’s “fresh perspectives” for Bromma
Bromma’s new president is keen to bring a “fresh perspective” to the Swedish spreader manufacturer’s business.
Just a few weeks into the role, Mr Mclean told Port Strategy in an exclusive interview that he would like to investigate different payment methods and transportation modes, among other options.
“I’d like to bring to Bromma a different way of looking at the business. We need to stick to the core business but I’d like to bring some fresh perspectives,” he said.
“For example, looking at how we get the product out to customers; whether we can find a way to improve this; whether we could offer rental options or pay per move. I don’t know how we would do this, but it’s a way of looking at things differently.”
He added that he would like to look at the industry with fresh eyes, without being constrained by the old way of doing business. However, he acknowledged that the weak global market will be the critical short term challenge to Bromma’s sales.
While new to the role, Mr Mclean is no stranger to the spreader specialist, having previously served as vice president in the Asia Pacific region for parent group Cargotec before taking on the role of president of Bromma on June 1.
