Port of Kotka joins the EcoPorts network

The goal is to arrange the port’s own operations so that other stakeholders, too, can work in a sustainable manner. Ecoport provides an opportunity to utilise the experiences and knowhow possessed by the port of its own development projects in preparations, planning, implementation, constant improvement, stakeholder relations and in case-specific innovative solutions.

Kotka ecoport aims at the efficient use of energy and materials. In addition to the efficient use of resources and recycling, all planning will take into account swift modifiability as the circumstances change. In practice, this means for example that the port aims to reduce it own energy consumption and use recycled materials in the port structures.
