Grain shiploader has advanced dust control features

The machine, which incorporates sophisticated dust control measures, has been designed to load Handysize vessels at average rates of 600-700t/h and peak rates up to 1000t/h.

The shiploader, which has a 45m boom, will receive grain delivered by trucks to its twin integral, chassis-mounted Samson feeders which are fitted with dust filtering equipment.

Dust control has also been provided at the conveyor transfer points and a Cleveland Cascade telescopic chute will be fitted at the extremity of the loading boom. This will ensure gentle transfer of cereals into the ship’s hold, avoiding degradation of the grain particles as well as wind-blown dust which would otherwise occur if the bulk cargo was allowed to free-fall even by a distance of less than one metre.
