Dover’s low carbon future

Following an independent assessment the Port of Dover has been awarded the Carbon Trust Standard, reducing its carbon emissions by 13.2%.

The port has since 2006 used a mixture of campaigns, from tackling habits like turning off computer screens to finding ways to generate heat and electricity from cooking oil. Another success has been refitting lights in the Easter Docks, saving 500,000 kWh per year.
