Coal ship loader with dust suppression
ThyssenKrupp have commenced the construction of a coal export terminal for Cigading International Bulk Terminal (CIBT) in West Java. Designed for an annual throughput of 4.5m tons coal in the first stage and can be upgraded to 7.5 to 8m tons in the future.
In view of its favourable location in West Java, this terminal will increase the coal export capacities of Indonesia to the Southeastern Asian countries and India considerably. For environmental protection a dust suppression system by means of water spray is installed with suction pump, water tank, spray pressure pump and spraying nozzles for all transfer points and the loading spout as well as a cleaning compressed-air line. Special measures are also taken in the design to the transfer points and materials flow for a better and functional sealing of the chutes and skirting. The ship loader is equipped with portal travel gears, boom with shuttle head and a loading device with trimming spoon, which allows 360 degrees slewing. With this option it is possible to reach a maximum filling of the corresponding ship holds up to the uppermost edge, at a high nominal loading rate. To serve different vessel sizes, a shuttle with rack and pinion drive, controlled by frequency converter, is incorporated in the luffing boom, varying the outreach from a minimum for matching small ship sizes to the maximum cape size. A modern drive control and PLC system is incorporated in the ship loader, operation is controlled via the computerised operator’s panel in the operator’s cabin. The high degree of automation and the visually assisted operator’s guide in Chinese allows the operating staff to maneuver the machine easily and comfortably. The design provides the possibility to upgrade the handling capacity from2,000 t/h to 3,000 t/h at a later stage, so that in the future the ship loader can be upgraded for a higher throughput of the whole coal terminal.
