Kalmar strengthens relationship with South Carolina
Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has received a follow-up order from South Carolina Ports Authority (SCPA) for 12 empty containers handlers, including five used machine trade-ins, to the SCPA Charleston area port facilities.
The order marks the continuing co-operation between Kalmar and SCPA for a wide range of equipment, including 11 Kalmar DCF90-45E7 empty container handlers and one DCF90-45E8 empty container handler with capacities of 9 tonnes.
The container handlers will help meet growing volumes at SCPA’s Wando and North Charleston terminals, as well as the South Carolina Inland Port terminal in Greer, South Carolina.
“Kalmar’s equipment is designed to bring greater efficiency and possibilities to our customer’s operations,” said Vincent Hruska, sales manager of Kalmar’s counterbalanced equipment. “The addition of our new service centre in Charleston will support the SCPA and other customers in the southeast region.”
Delivery is scheduled for the first quarter of 2017.
