Zeeland unveils intermodal planner
Netherlands-based Zeeland Seaports has developed a new online intermodal planner, to help carriers find the best possible route.
The new site has been built in co-operation with UK-based research and consultancy company, Ecorys, and provides up-to-date information on all routes available at the ports of Vlissengen and Temeuzen where more and more containers are being handled.
It allows users to look at all alternative modes of transport and compare travel times, for the best deal available.
Zeeland Seaports says it hopes that by using the planner, users will see what it already offers in terms of the storage and handling of containers.
Carla Schönknecht, executive member of Zeeland, launched the planner earlier this week.
Zeeland Seaports is home to around 250 companies and is the third largest seaport in the Netherlands.
