The scheme, which was funded at $100m, saw over 33 ports awarded direct grants, including the Port of Oakland, the Port of New Orleans and the Port of Port Angeles.

The biggest amount of funding in the 2017 program was awarded to the New York City Police Department (NYPD), which received $10.8m.

The US House of Representatives’ FY 2018 DHS Appropriations bill contains $100m dedicated to the PSGP, and the Senate is expected to mark up its version of a DHS Appropriations bill this month.
