Spanish minister insistent of stevedoring reform

The Minister has been extensively questioned by the media as to why the royal decree has been delayed for so long and why the government will not divulge the contents under discussion. In response, he has insisted that the government is working intensively on getting the new legislation passed, while maintaining that the issue is extremely complex. The contents must first be discussed at parliamentary level and reports obtained. Nevertheless, he insists that the legislation be released this year.

He also confirmed that letters sent by the employers’ association ANESCO on December 27, 2017 and trade unions regarding the actual content of the new law would be answered in due course.
