M. Kathleen Broadwater

M. Kathleen Broadwater has over 42 years of experience in the seaport and maritime transportation industry. She is presently a Principal with the EcoLogix Group, an environmental and outreach strategy firm located in Baltimore, Maryland. Ms. Broadwater serves as seaport practice leader for EcoLogix where her role is to help seaport executives develop and implement strategies for organizational growth, environmental stewardship and stakeholder engagement and support.

Ms. Broadwater was previously Deputy Executive Director of the Maryland Port Administration/Port of Baltimore. At the Maryland Port Administration, she was responsible for the Dredging Program, Engineering, Finance, Planning, Human Resources, Government Relations and Environment. Ms. Broadwater authored the Strategic Plan for the Port which resulted in the successful Niche Cargo focus of the Port of Baltimore.

Ms. Broadwater has 16 years with Booz Allen & Hamilton where she led worldwide consulting assignments for port authorities, shipping lines and other maritime industry entities. She started her career with Lykes Lines ocean carrier where she held positions in Pricing, Planning and Marketing.

Ms. Broadwater has held leadership positions with numerous port and maritime industry groups. She served as elected Chairman of the U.S. Port Delegation of the American Association of Port Authorities. As Chairman, she represented the U.S. Port industry in various forums such as with the U.S. Congress. She represented the port industry on the Ports Initiative Working Group of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. She served as the maritime representative on the National Academy of Sciences Science Advisory Board.

Ms. Broadwater holds a BBA degree in Marketing from Stephen F. Austin University in Texas and an MBA degree from the University of Arkansas.
