Chinese win Sydney port construction contract

As part of the deep water development project in Sydney, CCCC will discuss arrangements related to the design, construction and ownership of the marine container terminal.

He added: “We welcome a Chinese consortium joining our Canadian team and look forward to working with CCCC in building out our super-hub in Sydney.”

CCCC will provide container cranes, gantries and other port related equipment while undertaking the design and construction of Sydney’s container terminal.

Cape Breton Regional Municipality is said to have officially granted HPDP the exclusive right to market the port of Sydney for development, including building the financial and operating consortium to construct a state of the art container terminal and logistic park.

“The Port of Sydney is an important component of our larger strategy for growing Cape Breton’s economy. We appreciate the encouragement and support we have received from both the Provincial and Federal governments,” concluded Cecil Clarke, Cape Breton Regional Municipality mayor.
