Session 6 will discuss the question – “are ports sustainable?” Speakers from America and Europe will provide an insight into the key areas that your port can develop to ensure it is sustainable going forward. Areas which will be discussed will be energy transition, reducing the impact on your local coastal environment and practical examples of how American ports are integrating sustainability into their design.
Followed in session 8, discussions will highlight the ports of Long Beach, Virginia and Baltimore. Representatives from each port will present on how improving their sustainability and environmental performance have benefitted their local community, environment and profitability.
These sessions will provide attendees insights into the future of sustainable ports, how other ports are implementing their own strategies and how implementation can be cost effective.
