EU-ETS review: Europe’s ports plea to protect the sector

The European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO) is urging the European Commission to mitigate against the unwanted consequences of the current maritime ETS system on Europe’s ports and short sea shipping sector.

Currently, the Commission is finalising a proposal to review the EU-ETS Directive 2003/87/EC which was extended to the maritime sector in January 2024.
