KLANG OPTS FOR DIESEL-ELECTRIC STRADS

Klang Container Terminal has opted for the construction of the 11 new straddle carriers with diesel electric transmission which makes it the first port in Southeast Asia to do so. The terminal justifies the switch on environmental grounds and also because straddle carriers with this type of transmission have lower maintenance costs and use less fuel. Delivery is scheduled for May.
