An undeveloped land plot in the seaport of Moerdijk, Netherlands, is on the market for public tender after the Moerdijk Port Authority repurchased property formally reserved for Shell Moerdijk.
The Authority is now inviting parties to state their interest in the area and discuss initial project concepts. The plot is up to 119 hectares with a waterfront of up to approximately 690m and a water depth of around 9m. It’s served by all four modalities and can accommodate a range of used up to the highest environmental categories.
Moerdijk Port Authority says it hopes to attract an open tender, a party which develops and operates the maritime side of the plot under a long lease, and therefore facilitates further development of the port’s industrial and logistics clusters.
The seaport of Moerdijk is centrally located between Rotterdam, Antwerp and Duisburg, and has active industrial and logistics clusters. It’s congestion-free and has efficient maritime connections to regional and global trade routes.
