The Mexican port of Mazatlán has issued a tender for a multipurpose terminal as a means of boosting throughput at the port, which fell by 6.2% in the first four months of this year.
A concession of 20 years is being offered for the 166,000 m² facility. An award is expected to be made in October and the concession signed by January 2012. In 2009, a similar tender resulted in no compliant bids in being received.
