Intertek invests in Sierra Leone

Sierra Leones President Kabba recently opened the 10-year BOOT container security scanning concession awarded to Intertek Foreign Trade Standards and partners Port Maritime Security International (PMSi).

Besides building the scanning hall itself, other elements to complete the installation and its continued operation include:

Customs, hauliers, importers and shipping lines to ensure correct procedures and documentation flows Training and selecting employees – a key factor was to interpret the images correctly; this was handled by PMSi because of their experience on the Channel Tunnel. Candidates were psychometrically tested and suitable staff trained. Note:
