Dual-purpose security solution
A new combined radar and closedcircuit TV security system has been launched by British company Navtech Radar,which is targeting ports, airports, large industrial sites and other highvalue installations with the product.
The Navtech Site Security System NS3-CT uses a networked array of overlapping Navtech security radars, in order to monitor the whole perimeter and internal area from a single central control and display unit.
With the addition of the CCTV interface, it says targets can be tracked and viewed without any user interaction.
Based on the Navtech W series security radar, the NS3-CT monitors stationary and moving targets in all weather and light conditions.
Each radar system constantly scans a full 360 degrees across the designated area, from close range up to 800 metres distance. If objects are detected in the pre-programmed alarm zones, the NS3- CT will command the CCTV cameras to focus on these. Capable of detecting multiple intruders in different areas simultaneously, it can also be configured to trigger audible alarms or activate other security equipment.
