Egypt tames RAM
RAM Spreaders has lengthened its reach inthe Middle East with new orders from Egypts Damietta InternationalPort. The port has ordered 18 RAM Model 2940 CenterSpread separating twinlift telescoping spreaders for ship-to-shore cranes, four units RAM Model 2220telescopic overheight spreaders with automatic latching and 35 RAM Model 3540All Electric 20ft/40ft/45ft telescopic spreaders with fixed guides forrubber-tyred gantry cranes.
The V-TRAX automatically steers the container handling equipment down a virtual track along the runway using high-precision Differential GPS to locate the equipment and provide both the current position and heading. A twin antenna method allows the system to determine the heading before the equipment starts to move.
