Tuco Marine’s new ProZero CityHopper line of catamarans feature electrical drivelines and are built from lightweight composite materials, to ensure very efficient hull lines and deliver low energy consumption.
“The CityHopper range, is a perfect supplement to the ProZero E-line of Electric vessels to Professionals, and the range will support the international transformation of urban waterway mobility, and at the same time perfectly support ours and our customers commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals,” said managing director at Tuco, Jonas Pedersen.
First contract signed
Pedersen has already signed its first contract for the catamarans. Pedersen told GreenPort the details will be announced shortly.
Ranging from 10-15m and specifically designed for urban waterway passenger transportation, the catamarans feature electrical drivelines as a part of the ProZero E-line and, can be driven by a variety of modular drivetrains such as pod-drives, sterndrives, and shaft drives.
The CityHopper vessels are prepared and ready for autonomous use as well as dual used manned operations.
They can be delivered as double ended, pod-driven vessels, for minimised docking time and for the highest operating efficiency.
To achieve the best balance between design customisation and delivery time, Tuco has arranged the entire design and building process around a module-based system. With the modular methodology, adjustments and customisations are quick, easy and inexpensive to make.
