Kalmar moves crane production to Asia
Kalmar has announced that the design and construction of its quayside gantry cranes is to move to Asia, from where cranes will be sold to terminals around the world.
Until recently, comments the company, such cranes have only been offered to the European market.
The move to Asia will allow Kalmar to sell cranes in the Far East, in Australasia and also to the Americas.
The company also acknowledges that it will be cheaper to manufacture cranes outside of Europe.
