Kalmar wins Chilean contract
Kalmar has secured a contract to supply six of its Gloria reachstackers to Chile’s Sitrans Servicios Integrados de Transportes Limitada (Sitrans), part of the Ultramar Group.
Three of the machines are destined for the company’s container terminal in Valparaiso, while the remaining three will head to Sitrans’ San Antonio terminal, both in Chile.
The new units are replacing older machines and will join a large existing fleet of Kalmar machines, including empty container handlers, already operated by the company.
The Sitrans units will include a number of features designed to increase operational safety, including the Kalmar Reverse Warning System to give drivers greater visibility while reversing and Kalmar Insight, a performance management tool that provides a “clear overview of fleet operations to improve transparency and minimise unplanned downtime”.
Delivery of the machines is scheduled to take place during the first quarter of 2019.
