KCI KONECRANES PENETRATES US WEST COAST MARKET . . .
APM Terminals is increasing its container handling capacity at its terminal in Los Angeles, USA with seven new Konecranes RTGs.
The mighty 38.000 HP “D’ARTAGNAN” is named after the famous character in The Three Musketeers. Two auxiliary vessels, “ARAMIS” and “BUCKINGHAM” were also christened at the same ceremony. The three vessels will sail under French colours and are owned and operated by Societe de Dragage International (SDI), the French subsidiary of Belgian Dredging, Environmental and Marine Engineering (DEME) Group.
Handling efficiency is achieved by high hoist, trolley traverse and gantry speeds. The RTGs will be fully equipped with modern features including Sway Prevention and Fine Positioning Systems. All features are electromechanical, with no hydraulics involved.
