Ports opt for cable protection
Dubai Maritime City has ordered Cavotecs Panzerbelt system, designed to protect power cables from traffic damage by heavy port vehicles.
Scheduled for installation in December, it has been tailored to specific requirements and will be installed in a cable trench for twin ship transfer carriages.
Elsewhere, a Super Panzerbelt system will installed in the Red Sea Gateway Terminal at Jeddah’s Islamic Port, Saudi Arabia. Billed as a world-class container facility, the terminal is due to open in late 2009.
