RightShip creates port and terminal taskforce

The RightPORT team will serve as a single source of contact for everyone in the port-to-port supply chain, providing instant, centralised access to information about vessel safety, crew welfare and environmental issues.

Yucel Yildiz, ports and terminals manager at RightShip said the company’s ambition was a ‘zero-harm’ maritime industry and 40 ports have already taken advantage of RightSHIP’s ESG support.

“Ports and terminals are the critical points that connect the maritime world with onshore economies and communities – and that concentrate marine activity in contained areas,” he said.

“They are therefore crucial to our ambition, and our port and terminal team will ensure they have the data, expertise and tools to realise their ESG responsibilities and commitments,” he added.

For a ports or terminals operator, knowing what risk a vessel poses is essential to protect the supply chain, budgets, reputation and the environment. RightShip says its new team will help operators understand these risks, for example through its Marine Emissions Portal which shows the emissions profile of arriving or departing vessels.

“When great minds think alike, real change is achievable,” said Wassim Melhem, the product owner of the RightPORT technology.

“We can’t escape the reality that greater awareness and action is needed to reduce maritime risks encountered at every point in the supply chain.”
