Shipping stays dry
A new desiccant that turns moisture trappedin shipping containers into gel rather than a liquid, can protect cargo frommoisture damage for up to eight weeks, the manufacturers claim.
Superdry absorbs 200% its own weight in moisture and uses calcium chloride as its active ingredient rather than traditional silica or clay-based desiccants. The manufacturers claim that a 1kg unit can absorb up to 2 litres of water over the duration of a voyage.
