The VTS also collects and records data to support ABP, as the Statutory Harbour Authority, in maintaining emergency procedures/ contingency plans and reporting and investigating oil pollution incidents. It complies with the IALA VTS Guidelines, all applicable IMO conventions, including SOLAS Chapter V, Regulation 8-2, and takes account of the Port Marine Safety Code.

Singapore Terminals will be implementing Motorola’s TETRA (TErrestrial Trunked RAdio) digital radio system at its four container terminals at Tanjong Pagar, Keppel, Brani and Pasir Panjang, and its multi-purpose terminal Pasir Panjang Wharves. With the TETRA-based digital radio communications system, PSA Singapore Terminals will be able to harness voice and data communications solutions to efficiently manage the increasing volume of container traffic in its four terminals which handled 20.6mTEUs in 2004.
