Dorset withdraws objections to Portland plans
Dorset County Council has withdrawn its objections to a major expansion at the south coast port of Portland, after the port agreed to contribute to the cost of local road improvements.
The three-year Dryport project will look at the development, design and effective operation of dryports that are fully integrated with the freight handling systems of the sea port facilities they support. The project will also look at monitoring carbon dioxide effects and the integration of dryports into the European Union’s Motorways of the Sea concept.
