EIB funds Rotterdam expansion
The EuropeanInvestment Bank has granted a ¢ 900m ($1.3bn) loan to the Port ofRotterdam to finance infrastructure expansion. The financing contractfor the first ¢ 100m ($145m) has already been signed.
In related news, Boskalis and Van Oord have been awarded the contract to undertake the initial phase to build the Maasvlakte II expansion area in the port of Rotterdam. Work will take place between 2008 and 2013.
