French port force

The ports of Le Havre, Rouen and Paris have merged to become the Seine Axis Major River & Sea Port (HAROPA PORT). The ports have been united under the single banner of HAROPA since 2012.

“HAROPA PORT will give us a higher profile in Europe’s competitive environment and provide a preferential location for new industrial operations generating new jobs. This high level of ambition is founded on winning back market share by offering a benchmark port and logistics system to serve customers and partners in France and overseas,” said Stéphane Raison, CEO of HAROPA PORT.

France’s central government has provided this new port complex with massive financial underpinning of €1.45bn for the years 2021-2027 to allow the funding of numerous ambitious projects for development and redevelopment of port facilities. New-generation projects focused on local regions and protective in all cases of the environment and shared resource use.

HAROPA Port has appointed Goodman to develop a unique multimodal logistics platform at the port of Gennevilliers, dedicated to urban and river logistics.

The 90,000 sqm multimodal logistics platform ‘Green Dock’ will be structured over four levels, linked directly to the Seine and intended for the development of river transport and urban distribution for the Greater Paris region.

Green Dock will allow urban distribution businesses to provide “final-kilometre” delivery and to develop river-based transport deep into the French capital.

HAROPA is now the fifth largest north-European port complex. It is the no 1. French port for foreign trade and no 1 logistics hub in France.
