Gothenburg to re-structure

The Swedish port of Gothenburg is to be radically restructured with the port authority ceding handling operations to three private companies, allowing it to retain landlord and regulatory functions only.

The container terminal, ro-ro terminal and new vehicles terminal are to be offered privately to three companies without going through a public tender. The port authority has indicated it has received interest from several international operators.
