Intermed moves towards greater decarbonisation

Those participating, including the ports authorities of Barcelona, Genova and Marseille, in addition to hauliers, shippers and those involved in the logistics chain, debated the most sustainable solutions that could be applied to ports and shipping lanes in the region.

The Port of Barcelona’s head of strategy, Jordi Torrent, presented a paper on the various practices being developed by the Catalan port authority to bring forward the de-carbonisation of the overall supply chain.

For her part, Christine Cabau, president of the Port of Marseille, stressed the success of the previous Intermed meeting, adding that the organisation “wished to continue the approach of deepening and promoting better co-operation between all Mediterranean ports”.
