Malagas box traffic under major threat

At its home base in Algeciras, it has not renewed its contract with TCA, where it handled part of its box traffic. It also has spare capacity at its Tanger-Med terminal in Morocco. As a result, it has shifted a lot of boxes away from Malaga, where throughput plummeted by 33% last year. It would have been much worse had an agreement not been struck with local stevedores to bring down costs by 35% on all Maersk traffic.
