New collective bargaining agreement in Valencia
Port unions in Valencia are currently renegotiating their new collective bargaining agreement, to replace the agreement introduced in 1995.
A new contract will have to include productivity-based payments, say sources close to the process.
Also being sought is a way to write better use of resources into any eventual agreement.
However, a requirement on behalf of the shipping lines to guarantee traffic levels, as has happened with Maersk in Algeciras, has been ruled out.
