New owners take on Georgia terminal
International Container Terminal Services (ICTSI)Georgian arm has taken over the operation and management of Batumi ContainerTerminal under a 48-year lease.
The container terminal handover also includes the rail ferry terminal facilities and the 181-meter general cargo berth, Berth 6.ICTSI’s Batumi International Container Terminal (BICT) plans to refurbish the two portal cranes at Berth 6 and is considering using mobile harbour cranes to handle containers in the future.
Batumi Container Terminal marks the first major investment of ICTSI in the Black Sea Region.
