Setúbal boosts box throughput

The company’s managing director, Pinto Magalhães, has suggested that there are some ports in Portugal that function better than others, although he did not explicitly imply criticism of Lisbon, he said.

Commenting on the switch from the Sotagus terminal in Lisbon, he said that it was fairly congested, which produced long waiting times. In the first quarter of this year, container throughput at Setúbal has grown by 155%, thanks to the arrival of new services.
