UK kick starts motorway finance

Specifying key routes between EU member states and, sometimes, neighbouring third countries, the Motorways of the Sea project aims to provide high-quality regular services that can be combined with other modes of transport to provide efficient alternatives to road-only transport.

Stage one of a two stage process will close on October 15, when the DoT will evaluate the bids and decide which to support in the next stage when the European Commission calls for bids for Trans European Network – Transport funding in December 2007.
